Joe Roberts - Vice President
Mr. Roberts has 20 plus years experience in the design and construction of critical support facilities including data centers and telecom sites. He is directly responsible for defining and incorporating all engineering design criteria into TMI projects. He provides senior level leadership and design ingenuity for the firm, in addition to roles in project management and client design troubleshooting.
Prior to joining TMI, Mr. Roberts was President of Roberts Consulting, Inc. from 1999 - 2000. Prior to that, he was VP of Engineering for Data Center Design and Development Corporation for 10 years. He was one of two senior level engineers that directly supported the growth of the organization from a small consulting engineering firm to a premier full service design/build organization serving the data processing and telecommunications communities nationwide.
Mr. Roberts was employed by Perkins & Will from 1982 - 1988 as a lead project engineer and was part of a 5-man team that implemented CADD (Computer Aided Design & Drafting) technology into the firm's drawing production process. From 1979 - 1982 he worked as an electrical design draftsman at Schmidt, Garden & Erickson.
Overall experience includes the design and construction of over four million square feet of Critical Support Facilities for corporations and telecommunication firms across the United States and Canada, commercial projects including banks, hotels and labs/clean rooms, and institutional projects including hospitals, medical centers and schools.
He has an Associate Degree in Architecture from Oakton Community College.
